COVINGTON ACADEMY

Since 2009 Growing
in Beautiful Newton County GA

History:

Covington Academy began as a dream of founder and principal Amanda McCullough, who envisioned a more inclusive and unique educational experience for her young son. After years in education, she sought a school where small class sizes, the teaching of cursive, abundant hands-on activities, and lasting friendships would foster a strong sense of community, Christian morals and academic excellence.

What started as a small tutoring center, A Time 4 Learning, in the historic Porterdale Mill Lofts, has since flourished into a fully accredited educational institution. Moving from Porterdale to Covington city limits and finally to its current 17-acre campus just outside the city, Covington Academy has grown from just 30 students to over 300 with alumni now sending their own children here—a testament to its legacy and the student experience.

More than a school, Covington Academy is a family. This spirit of connection and excellence is what sets us apart. Today, Amanda and Glenn McCullough continue to guide CA’s growth and are seen daily in school drop off lines and cheering at sporting events. This is the Covington Academy difference.

About Our Program

Since our founding in 2009, our private school program has been dedicated to providing a personalized and enriching educational experience. Beginning with a small group of dedicated educators and students, we built a community centered on academic excellence and Christian values.

Families seeking a faith-based alternative to traditional schooling are drawn to our creative approach to education and focus on holistic student development. This commitment has helped us grow in both size and reputation, while staying true to our mission.

Today, we take pride in fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and character development—preparing students to excel in an ever-evolving world.
