COVINGTON ACADEMY

Writing and Literature

At Covington Academy, we believe in the transformative power of the written word. Our writing and literature program inspires students to explore their creative abilities, develop strong writing skills, and engage with powerful stories. Through a variety of literary genres and structured assignments, students have the opportunity to improve their writing and express their ideas clearly. Creative projects further encourage students to think critically and communicate effectively—skills that are essential throughout their education and beyond.

Writing, storytelling, and the exploration of literature are vital components of a well-rounded education, and we’re committed to inspiring the next generation of writers. As a proud member of the Georgia Association of Private and Independent Schools (GAPPS), our students also have the chance to compete in various writing and literature competitions, including personal, argumentative, and rhetorical analysis essay contests, as well as spelling bees and speech writing events. These opportunities provide students with a platform to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience in writing and public speaking.
